Descend towards the west, just beyond Closeburn House, and you’ll begin to discover so many wonderful places to visit and see.
Within a 2 hour round trip, you can visit;
Mayfield Garden - just outside of Oberon, it’s the largest private garden in the southern hemisphere with it’s own full sized English maze, lakes, and extensive gardens.
Hartley Historic Village - an intact original settlers town. (Make sure you take a walk on the raised boardwalk, along the river, and you might see a platypus).
Jenolan Caves - The world renowned Jenolan Caves.
Glow Worm Tunnel - Recently reopened after track upgrades, enter into a darkened world lit by glowing worms.
Megalong Wineries - World class wineries such as Dryridge Estate are close by for wine tasting and cellar door sales.
Capertee Valley - The worlds second largest canyon with cliffs plunging hundreds of metres, second only to the Grand Canyon in the US.
Gardens of Stone - Pagoda rock formations feature in this 15,000 ha garden of stone.
Mount Wilson - Explore the estates and park-like gardens.
Horse riding - The Kanibla and Megalong Valleys are perfect for horse riding.
Mount Tomah Botanical Gardens - 29 hectares of high altitude, cool climate botanic gardens - the only botanic gardens in the world located within an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Zig Zag Railway - The iconic and restored zig zag railway that used to be the main link between the east and the west.
Japanese Bath House - An incredible and traditional Japanese onsen overlooking the spectacular Lake Lyall.
